Top 10 Reasons Life is GREAT in Bryan/College Station

Bryan-College Station (BCS) has the resources of a city with the feel and pace of a smaller town.

  1. Location: Texas is an awesome state. BCS is only a few hours from every major city: Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio. Weekend possibilities abound.
  1. Parks: Lake Bryan has great running trails. Let your dog swim and play at University Dog Park (you can even wash them off before you leave). Play soccer and softball under the lights at Veteran’s Park. Run or bike along the trails in College Station’s 515-acre Lick Creek Park.
  1. Physical Fitness: Aerofit is affordable, and there are locations all over the city, including one near our clinic. Bryan Aquatic Center is a year-round heated outdoor pool. The cities have CrossFit gyms, Frisbee golf, many annual runs and triathlons and several nice golf courses. Better yet, join our residency softball or soccer team!
  1. Healthy Eating: Get a pile of local vegetables delivered to your doorstep year-round from Yellow Prairie Farm. Downtown Bryan has a weekend farmer’s market. Also, you can enjoy a monthly gourmet farm-to-table meal at Ronin Farm.
  1. Fine dining and local breweries:Enjoy first-class dining at Christopher’s World Grille, Porters, The Republic Steakhouse. Wine flights at Messina Hof Winery or local brews at Blackwater Draw in Bryan.
  1. Best local grub: Fargo’s BBQ was ranked the #12 BBQ in Texas by Texas Monthly Magazine. Amazing tacos are served daily at Fuegos, Torchy’s Tacos and Mad Taco. Excellent burgers can be found at Koppe Bridge and Grub Burger. And at Wings ‘n More you can get…well, you can probably guess.
  1. Texas A&M University: Enjoy our thriving campus with museums and fine arts. The MSC OPAS has traveling off-Broadway musicals and live theatre. The George Bush Presidential Library showcases an era of important United States history. And of course, Aggie football games bring tailgating and game day to the next level. If football isn’t your thing, the university offers plenty of other sporting events year-round. Gig’Em!
  1. Downtown Bryan: First Fridays are a monthly street fair. Get a latte at Harvest Coffee Bar. Share a drink at Proudest Monkey or Downtown Elixir and Spirits. Go salsa dancing every week at Village Café. Visit the beautiful antique stores and local shops. Listen to live music at the outdoor Palace Theater.
  1. Family Friendly: BCS has numerous parks with playgrounds, splash pads and pools. There are excellent local options for daycare, mother’s day out programs and preschool. Local libraries have weekly free events. There are a variety of vibrant church options.
  1. Home of Texas A&M Family Medicine Residency: This place is a family. We are close friends. Our families eat and play together. We support and care for each other. It’s a great place to call home.
