What degrees do you hold and from what institutions?

I have just received my bachelor’s degree from China Pharmaceutical University, majoring in pharmaceutical analysis.

What excites you about joining Texas A&M School of Medicine for your PhD studies?

I am excited about starting my PhD study in top medical center, I can imagine learning new things and meeting new people, starting a new life in a new country. It would be different from undergraduate study, and I am looking forward to it.

If you could meet any scientist throughout history, who would you want to meet and why?

If I could meet any scientist, I would like to meet Tu Youyou, the first Nobel laureate in China. She saved millions of lives from malaria by extracting artemisinin. I want to meet her because she is a legendary scientist in the pharmaceutical field, choosing out the specific plant from ancient books, then extracting the active compound successfully.

Tell us something you are passionate about apart from research.

I love cooking and baking! I like trying out new recipes, making different kinds of bread, and making birthday cakes for the family. It feels good to see raw ingredients turn into delicious dishes from my hands.
