Biography
Gabriel Neal, MD is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Primary Care & Rural Medicine at Texas A&M College of Medicine. He received his MD from the University of Oklahoma in 2001, completed his family medicine residency at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, OH, followed by an FM-OB fellowship n Spokane, WA. He obtained a Master of Arts in Bioethics from Trinity International University in 2012.
Dr. Neal first joined the Texas A&M College of Medicine as an adjunct faculty in 2008 then joined full time as faculty in the Texas A&M Family Medicine Residency in 2016. He has taught in numerous pre-clinical and clinical courses for the College of Medicine. A few of his clinical and educational leadership roles include having served as the Clerkship Director for Family Medicine, Chair of the Department of Family Medicine for the St. Joseph Hospitals, and Chief Clinical Officer for the College of Medicine.
Dr. Neal's teaching illuminates applied evidence-based medical care and ethics. He believes there is no better place to learn medicine than seated at the patient’s bedside. He was awarded Clinical Faculty Preceptor of the Year in 2011 and Outstanding Faculty in Family Medicine in 2019. He has authored several chapters in Swanson's Family Medicine Review and his work has been published in peer reviewed journals such as Medical Education, Family Medicine, and The Journal of Family Practice.
