Biography
Dr. Frias is an instructional assistant professor with the Humanities in Medicine department at Texas A&M College of Medicine. She was born and raised in the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean. She graduated from UCE (Universidad Central del Este) in San Pedro de Macorís and trained as a General and Family Physician. As a part of the Humanities department, she works closely with other faculty and students in the Practice of Medicine courses, as well as the Clinical Learning Resource Center in the evaluation of student’s performance during OSCE (Objectively Structured Clinical Exam). She is the director of the Medical Spanish program and is a faculty advisor for the Latino Medical Student Association. Dr. Frias also shares interest in arts, creating illustrations and paintings for the department as well as the Synapse newsletter.
