Global Health Outreach
Global Health Outreach (GHO) is a joint organization that includes the School of Medicine, College of Nursing, College of Dentistry and undergraduates at Texas A&M University. Each year GHO plans a medical mission trip to provide healthcare to poor and medically underserved communities, generally through an organization called Global Medical Training. We host two or more trainings for each GMT sponsored mission trip where the medical, dentistry and nursing upperclassmen teach history and physical exam skills to both underclassmen and the undergraduates who accompany us. This provides ample learning and mentoring opportunities which allows all of our students to be prepared for every GMT-sponsored mission trip. We also host additional meetings each semester involving guest speakers with backgrounds in global health. Through the mission trip, trainings and meetings, this organization aims to educate and enamor students in the important topic of international health.
