Military Medicine Electives

  1. Do all electives start on Monday?
    1. All rotations start on Monday at both CRDAMC and JBSA facility, unless Monday is a holiday.

  2. What all is required to begin elective at CRDAMC facility?
    1. Extensive credentialing is required for rotations at CRDAMC.
    2. EM electives and All 4-week electives require students to be fingerprinted in order to have access to the EMR system.
    3. Students will need to submit proof of identity via a birth certificate or passport.

  3. What all is required to begin elective at JBSA facility?
    1. Extensive credentialing is required for rotations at JBSA.
    2. Fingerprinting and a background check are required
    3. Students will need to submit proof of identity via TWO forms of identification
    4. Online training (HIPAA and Cyber Awareness)
    5. Students must provide copies of their BLS card, immunization records, and a letter of good academic standing from Texas A&M.
    6. Clearance with Immunizations and Public Health departments at Wilford Hall

  4. Housing information for CRDAMC facility
    1. No pets allowed for CRDAMC per housing agreement with Fort Cavazos.
    2. On-base roommate shared housing 3 Bedroom/2 Bath

  5. Housing information for JBSA facility
    1. No pets allowed per housing agreement with the 59th Medical Wing.
    2. Student housing is located on nearby training annex (accessible by base pass).
    3. There is a male and female unit; each is roommate shared housing 2 Bedroom/2 Bath

    2. Electives need to be confirmed and scheduled 2 to 3 months prior to the start date of the rotation to allow CRDAMC to conduct a background check which may include fingerprinting.

  10. How many students can do each elective at one time?
    1. CRDAMC: 1 student per rotation. EM will allow 2 per rotation when available (November to May)
    2. JBSA: 1 student per rotation. 2 students per rotation for Endocrinology / Diabetes Center of Excellence and Dermatology (except for Jul, Aug, Sept). Radiology will allow 4.
