The Office of Marketing and Communications

Our communications team serves as brand ambassadors for Texas A&M University and Aggie Medicine, strategically marketing and promoting our institution's identity and academic programs in medicine. We highlight the achievements of students, alumni, and faculty in the medical field through various channels, including press releases, ad campaigns, web, and social media, acting as the central marketing and communications hub for the Texas A&M University School of Medicine.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop comprehensive marketing and communication strategies aligned with organizational and departmental goals.
  • Conduct market research to identify target audiences, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
    Define key messages and positioning to communicate the brand's value proposition effectively.

Content Creation and Copywriting:

  • Generate compelling and engaging content for various channels, including websites, social media, and print materials.
  • Craft persuasive copy that resonates with the target audience and reinforces the brand identity.
  • Ensure consistency in messaging across different platforms and campaigns.

Digital Marketing:

  • Execute online campaigns using channels such as social media, email, and search engine optimization (SEO).
  • Manage paid advertising strategies to increase brand visibility and drive targeted traffic.
  • Analyze digital data to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and optimize performance.

Media Relations:

  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, and influencers.
  • Create and distribute press releases to garner media coverage for key announcements and events.
  • Monitor media coverage and respond to inquiries or issues to manage the brand's reputation.

Brand Management:

  • Develop and enforce brand guidelines to maintain a consistent brand image.
  • Monitor brand mentions and sentiment across various platforms.
  • Implement strategies to enhance brand awareness and equity over time.

Brand Guide:

The Marketing Brand Guide (SharePoint site) is the latest official resource from the School of Medicine Marketing & Communications Office specifically for faculty, staff and students. A TAMU ID and Password is required to log on. 

Please refer to the Brand Guide for information including:  Social Media, Branding, Photography, Editorial Style, Media Relations, Email Signatures and Etiquette, Obtaining SWAG and Branded Items, Press releases, etc.

Reporting News and Updates:

Complete the form below to provide an easy and convenient way for our students, faculty, and staff to report newsworthy information. This form also helps our Marketing and Communications staff and Office of Research staff for research-related items stay informed of upcoming or recent publications, honors or awards, and other newsworthy accomplishments.

Complete the form below for easy submissions of upcoming events.  Click on the Live Whale button.  The event will be posted to the live calendar within one business day and may be edited as necessary for style and clarity or to comply with university and school guidelines.
