Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) Award Nominations
About the Award
The Texas A&M University College of Medicine seeks nominations for the Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) Award. This honor recognizes the exceptional achievements of recent graduates who are no more than 10 years post-graduation from the College of Medicine. The GOLD Award celebrates those who have demonstrated excellence in the field of medicine through clinical service, research, education, and/or leadership. Recipients embody the Texas A&M core values of Excellence, Integrity, Leadership, Loyalty, Respect, and Selfless Service.

Nomination Guidelines
Criteria for nomination and selection of candidates:
- Outstanding contributions to medical sciences through clinical service, research, education, and/or administrative leadership.
- Demonstrated integrity and abilities that inspire peers and the next generation of medical professionals.
- Significant contributions to their community and profession, setting a standard of excellence.
- Embodies and upholds the Texas A&M core values.
- Demonstrates pride and loyalty to the Texas A&M University College of Medicine
Candidate Eligibility
- All nominees must have a degree from the College of Medicine at Texas A&M University
- Nominees must have graduated within the last 10 years as of the year awarded
- Posthumous nominations are welcomed
- Nominations must be submitted for individuals only
- Currently employed faculty or staff members of any Texas A&M University entity, including the Health Science Center or the Texas A&M University System, are not eligible
- Individuals may only receive the GOLD Award once
- Self-nominations will be accepted
- Any TAMU member, affiliate, or friend/family of the nominee can submit a nomination packet.
Application Procedure
- Complete the nomination packet: tx.ag/MedicineGOLDAlumni
- All documents must be submitted to be considered a complete file for review.
- The College of Medicine Office of the Dean will receive and validate all nominees for eligibility.
Nomination Packet
- Letter of Nomination. This is the primary form used in determining finalists. Be as thorough and impactful as possible while also being concise. The Letter of Nomination should include:
- Significant achievements and contributions at the State, National, or International level
- Recognition of efforts in the field of Medicine, Medical Research, or other chosen profession
- Noteworthy accomplishments, Involvement/interest in Texas A&M University and/or the College of Medicine
- Current Curriculum Vitae or Resume, which illustrates the work he/she has done
Awards Selection Committee
A committee appointed by the College of Medicine will review the nominations received and make selections based on the criteria listed. Upon determining finalists, the recommendations will be sent to the College of Medicine Dean for final review and approval.
Presentation of Award
The GOLD Award will be presented annually at the Scholarship Appreciation Dinner.
