Introducing Duha Eldow

Duha Eldow

Which undergraduate degree do you hold from Texas A&M?

B.S in Genetics, Minor in psychology.

What are your career goals?

I am planning to be a Clinical Psychologist with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis. You are going to ask me why I am in this master's program, right? I got you. I joined this master because my research interest, which is behavioral genetics, is included here more than in the psychology department. I want to learn about the body as well as the health side to have an idea about health psychology, like what most Clinical Psychologists achieve.

Who is your role model in life/Who do you look up to for inspiration in life?

My role model is our Prophet, Mohammed (Peace be upon him). Aside, from being the perfect figure, he taught me how to deal with every aspect of my life.

Tell us something you are passionate about apart from studies

I love herbs and I am also willing to co-integrate herbal medicine with psychology, which is absolutely doable! I am currently self-learning to be a registered herbalist. Well, this still sounds like a study, right? Umm...I also enjoy drawing, painting, and sketching, especially for Manga. Yes, I am kinda an otaku. I usually do some of these three in my free time.

How do you like your eggs cooked? Feel free to share a recipe!

First of all, egg is my favorite breakfast. Does anyone disagree? I love egg mixed with vegetables. Here’s how I cook it. Try it now, if you can, and you will cook it every day forward.

  1. Crack two eggs.
  2. Shred tomato, green pepper (or hot pepper), and carrot.
  3. Add them to the eggs.
  4. Add the following spices in little amounts:
  • Onion powder
  • Garlic powder
  • Curry
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  1. Add one teaspoon of margarine (preferred to be soft).
  2. Mix well together.
  3. Put it in a microwave for 2 minutes in 30sec intervals. Mix between intervals to allow for uniform cooking. Or, you can cook it traditionally on a pan.
  4. Enjoy (this is the most important one!).
