I was a bull rider as a teen, and continue to do so on occasion for fun.
What degrees do you hold and from what institutions?
I hold a BS in Microbiology from Texas A&M University
What excites you about joining Texas A&M School of Medicine for your MS degree in Medical Sciences?
I am most excited about obtaining meaningful exposure to patient communication, as that was certainly a major aspect of the curriculum that stood out about the MS in Medical Sciences.
If you could meet any physician or scientist throughout history, who would you want to meet and why?
My most obvious choice is Dr. Michael DeBakey. I would love to meet him and attempt to gain any understanding of the ethic that led him to pioneer numerous procedures and devices, across many disciplines and spanning decades.
Tell us something you are passionate about.
Learning for the sake of learning, and subsequently, imparting acquired knowledge. I trust that any information I gain can be of use in some capacity, and that remaining receptive to new ideas is key to fostering a proactive approach to health. Just before writing this, I explained to a friend that the issues he was experiencing with his residential reverse osmosis system likely had a similar chemical basis as his dad’s gout… his reaction was nothing short of bewildered.
