If you could meet any scientist throughout history, who would you want to meet and why?
In biomedical sciences, my greatest interest is to study and develop novel ways to treat and prevent cancers, with an emphasis on our own immune system. Cancer Immunology and immunotherapy are the two promising fields here. I have an unbound passion to advance our understanding of immunology and to expand its utilization in the prevention of autoimmune diseases or the management of cancers. Immune checkpoints inhibitors were a huge boost to the field of immunotherapy. I am very lucky to receive my MS training in a department headed by a scientist who discovered these checkpoints and is a Nobel prize winner, Dr. James Allison. He is one of the scientists that I wanted to meet at least once, and instead, I had the chance to meet him quarterly in the department meetings and seminars in the past two years.
Tell us something you are passionate about apart from research.
I love traveling and outdoor nature. Road trips are on the top of my listing. I visited more than 30 countries, and Southeast Asia is next after defeating COVID19 (and passing the candidacy exam!).
