Applications for Fall 2026 start are due August 13, 2026. Classes begin August 24, 2026.
Applications for Spring 2027 start open August 1, 2026, and are due October 15, 2026.

What can I expect from the coursework?
All students will receive core training in the following topics (3-credit-hours each):
Clinical Medicine in Austere Environments - asynchronous
Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics – asynchronous
Students in the Aerospace track will select nine additional credit hours by choosing three additional 3-credit-hour courses from the following:
Aerospace Medical Operations – synchronous
Introduction to Space Radiobiology – synchronous/asynchronous
Aerospace Human Systems Integration – offered in partnership with Texas A&M College of Engineering – synchronous
Human Performance in Aerospace Environments – offered in partnership with Texas A&M College of Engineering – synchronous
Capstone Research Project – asynchronous
Students in the Austere/Military Medicine Track will complete the following courses in addition to the core curriculum:
Disaster Management and Operations – asynchronous
Military and Special Operations – asynchronous
Capstone Research Project – asynchronous
Is this certificate program fully online?
Yes, all classes are offered online with a combination of synchronous (live) and asynchronous curriculum. You are not required to travel to Bryan/College Station or any Texas A&M campus to complete the certificate coursework.
Is this a master’s degree program?
No, this is a graduate-level certificate program designed for professionals working at the intersection of healthcare, military operations, human performance and spaceflight.
The Vashisht College of Medicine intends to launch a Master of Science in aerospace physiology in 2027, and these credits will transfer seamlessly to that program should you decide to pursue the degree at that time.
What is the time commitment for the program?
Program participants are expected to complete the 18-course-hour curriculum requirements. The online format and combination of synchronous and asynchronous learning allow you to complete the program with a high degree of flexibility.
What is the cost of the certificate program?
The cost of the graduate certificate program is commensurate with Texas A&M University graduate-level coursework. The exact cost is noted in the application.
